Dr. Nilanjan Mukherji is currently heading the Marketing function of the Ansal Institute of Technology which includes all admission related and business development activities in both online mode and otherwise.

Dr. Nilanjan is a doctorate in Management & MBA in Marketing who brings with him over 21 years of rich experience with premier brands. He possesses excellent business development, sales, networking, team building, training and consulting skills and has been a high performer. He has led large teams towards target oriented success by maintaining overall focus on individual productivity as well as organizational profitability. He has also conducted several training programs aimed at sales effectiveness, leadership development and creating teams that perform consistently.

As an IIM – Ahmadabad certified professional on Business Leadership, he has worked very closely with top industry leaders in the country & across the world on gap analysis and training solutions. He has previously held senior management positions within the HDFC, TATA group & leading British Education & Consultancy organization. He is also a Franklin Covey certified Sales professional. Ques 1: Kindly tell us about your experience in the field of Business Development & Marketing?

Ans. I have vast experience in the field of Sales & Marketing, including teaching. I have been involved in several national & international projects in which I have worked on the curriculum, delivery mechanisms and assessment of professional education courses across Management, Engineering, Fashion, Design fields. I have also been working in business development area of services, particularly in BFSI, as well as education industry.

Ques 2: Any of the significant challenges you faced as the Head of Marketing at Ansal Institute of Technology and Management?

Ans. This industry is slowly waking up to the reality & requirements and expectations of the modern-day student and parent. We have to gear up to that and speak the language that a modern net savvy customer understands. Bringing all thoughts aligned to this need is a challenge and we at Ansal Technical Campus are geared up to overcome this challenge.

Ques 3: How does your curriculum ensure best practices of industry?

Ans. We have a methodology of delivery which has industry intervention embedded at each stage. This includes regular interaction with industry leaders by lectures, workshops conducted by practicing industry professionals, 360-degree approach of delivery by regular visits of our students to various industries not only for visits but extensive activities at the various workplaces. Also, seminars and events both are held at our campus as well as off-site to engage the student with various industry’s best practices and updates.

Ans. Ansal Institute has a high standard of education all round, that we have internally set. We need to realize our potential fully and be a perfect solution for all students who seek a holistic environment of education which includes overall development of knowledge, skills as well as attitude. Ans. It’s a continuous process of engagement and learning which ensures strong bond between the tutor and the person being taught at Ansal Technical Campus.

Ques 7: How do you look at the growth of students through placement opportunities available at Ansal Institute of Technology and Management? How do you wish to push the envelope further?

Ans. Placements at ATC are an obvious outcome of the continuous process of engagement with students and industry by ATC placement cell. The overall package includes grooming sessions, holistic development through yoga and meditation classes for concentration and overall well-being. Industry readiness sessions and mock preparations of industry environment simulation exercises.

Ques 8: As an IIM – Ahmedabad certified professional in business leadership, what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style

Ans. Leadership according to me is participative, by transferring authority and responsibility both simultaneously. A leader indulges in development of team members by empowering them and hand holding them at the same time. Motivation is the key to any successful leadership style.

Ques 9: Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

Ans. They should pursue their passion and be successful in it. I personally believe that one can make a successful career in any stream if you have the right intensity and passion to learn. The top 20% students in any given stream and guaranteed to succeed. Therefore, one should choose the area of study as per his or her skill sets and not go as per market or popular norms.
